Priority will be given to applications that demonstrate clear evidence of forward planning.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funding can be requested up to a maximum of \u00a32,000. \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants should be aware that grants very rarely exceed \u00a32,000 and more commonly are for lesser sums.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants whose projects span both visual art and music should choose which fund to apply for. Please do not apply to both music and visual art.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note that the Trust operates a strict no repeats policy and will not consider applications from applicants who have been successful within the last 3 years.\u00a0 For example, if you were made an award in March 2022, you will not be able to reapply until June 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><h2 class=\"bde-heading-274-104 bde-heading\">\nwhat is funded\n<\/h2><div class=\"bde-rich-text-274-103 bde-rich-text breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artists<\/span><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grants are given to artists whose practice may include painting, sculpture, printmaking, performance, photography, and moving image. Preference is given to applicants who are born in Scotland or who live permanently in Scotland.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grants are given for the following purposes:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Production of new work.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exhibition related publications.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Travel where clearly defined outcomes are specified.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exhibition costs.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Residencies.<\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Trust\u2019s remit is strict. We are unable to fund the following:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ordinary educational\/course fees<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Documentary film making<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crafts<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Book Illustration<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Undergraduate studies<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also do not directly fund postgraduate students<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"bde-rich-text-274-111 bde-rich-text breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<h3>musicians<\/h3><p>Grants are given to musicians whose practice encompasses a wide range of musical genre. Preference is given to applicants who are born in Scotland or who live permanently in Scotland.<\/p><p>Grants are given for the following purposes:<\/p><ul><li aria-level=\"1\">Production of new work.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Costs towards musical performances and related events.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Grants may be awarded for additional tuition and associated travel costs where clearly defined outcomes are specified.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Residencies.<\/li><\/ul><p>The Trust\u2019s remit is strict. We are unable to fund the following:<\/p><ul><li aria-level=\"1\">Ordinary educational\/course fees.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Purchase of instruments.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">Undergraduate studies.<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\">We also do not directly fund postgraduate students.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><h2 class=\"bde-heading-274-110 bde-heading\">\nThe Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds Regulations 2017\n<\/h2><div class=\"bde-rich-text-274-109 bde-rich-text breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To comply with these regulations, if your application is successful, we will require photographic ID of the applicant\/payee of the award to verify full name and date of birth.\u00a0 Proof of address under 3 months old will also be required.\u00a0 No payments can be made until this has been received and agreed as satisfactory. \u00a0Any cheques issued will be issued to the individuals full stated name, not an artist\u2019s \u201cstage\u201d name.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please also bear in mind that the Trust has limited funds. The trustees would like to use the money at their disposal to help people and projects where there is a serious financial need.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Trustees meet three times a year, usually in March, June and October. Applicants will be informed of the trustees\u2019 decision as soon as possible after each meeting.
